Dead Symphony To Premeire On Friday, 8/1

Lee Johnson's musical project of orchestrating a symphony of Grateful Dead songs will have it's live debut at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore next Friday, on what would have been Jerry Garcia's 66th birthday.

The event was conceived and organized by our friend Toby Blumenthal, Manager of Facility Sales for the Meyerhoff, the home of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Toby sat down for a recent Jambands.com interview, which you can read here.

The WeightStaff is very excited about making the trip to Baltimore for this world premiere event. I saw the BSO perform with Ben Folds a couple years ago at the same venue and it was a treat to see and hear the power of the full orchestra in person. Look for our review shortly after the show.

Listen to audio samples and order Dead Symphony No. 6, as performed on record by the Russian National Orchestra here.
