You've most likely never heard of british band, The Kooks. If you have, we should hang out more often. I first heard them played on British radio station, BBC Radio 1, a station you can listen to online at www.bbc.co.uk/radio1.
The Kooks' name originated from the David Bowie song "Kooks" from the album Hunky Dory. Their debut album, Inside In/Inside Out, spent more than half of 2006 in the UK Top 20 and has sold more than 1,000,000 copies there. To give you some perspective on that sales figure, an album is certified platinum in the UK at 300,000.
Two of my favorite songs of all time are the Stones' Beast of Burden and the Velvet's Sweet Jane. In this clip from a performance on french TV, the Kooks play them seamlessly together. Well done mates.
