Lollapalooza Confirms Pearl Jam

I would actually go to Lollapalooza just to see Pearl Jam in concert. They are that good live. This is a huge score for Perry Farrell and co. Being Pearl Jam's only scheduled concert date of 2007, this should be an amazing event. So Chicago native Billy Corgan brings his Smashing Pumpkins to Baltimore on this weekend and Eddie Vedder gets the Windy City headline spot. I may be at the V Fest in Baltimore and not in Chicago on August 5th, but for at least the two hours that PJ will be on stage, I'll be wishing I was there.

As tipped here last month, Pearl Jam will headline the final night (Aug. 5) of Lollapalooza at Chicago's Grant Park. According to the Seattle's band's Web site, this is Pearl Jam's only scheduled U.S. date of 2007.

The group will begin a three-week European tour June 8 in Lisbon, encompassing a mix of headlining and festival shows. Beforehand, guitarist Mike McCready and his U.F.O. tribute band Flight To Mars will play at Seattle's Showbox on Saturday (April 7) as part of the fifth annual Crohn's & Colitis Association benefit, while frontman Eddie Vedder and keyboardist Boom Gaspar will play Jack Johnson's Kokua benefit in Honolulu on April 21-22.

The rest of the Lollapalooza lineup will be announced April 12. "Early-bird" three-day passes go on sale tomorrow via Lollapalooza.com.
